Monday Morning Musings

Have you ever felt like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz? Let me explain~has your weather ever been so weird that you felt like maybe, just maybe, you were temporarily in a different state?
Here it is June and this weekend made me feel like we were living in Portland or Seattle; I love both of these cities but I don't care for the weather there-too damp. Well, here in beautiful sunny Colorado that normally boasts of more sunny days than California(which was a draw when moving here) we spent the entire weekend inside due to storms. Now we are used to humidity and thunder showers in the afternoons but I'm talking winter storms here, complete with tornadoes and flooding and even a bit of snow in the high places. My dear hubby spent numerous hours emptying out our basement window wells, every few hours. Today we are still having clouds and possible showers but tomorrow is supposed to be wonderful and warm.
However, the song that has popped into my head this morning is:
"Give thanks to the Lord, our God and King,
His love endures forever."
So regardless of our weird wacky weather, I will give thanks because no matter what else is happening, His love endures forever.

Be blessed today,
Noreen

  2. Hi Nor',
I think we felt that way when it was flooding all around us a few years back! Without even having a hurricane!!

Praying that the warm sun shines on you this week!

Love your "thankful in all things" heart!!

    Love you bunches!

  3. Hi Noreen. We have had some different weather this spring too. It was much colder than usual, so any of us who enjoy gardening got a later start.
The 5th wheel is truly a blessing. We have a tent, but it isn't a good idea to use it in our part of the Rockies due to the grizzly bears.
My daughter works at a Bible college in the mountains south and west of us and they have more danger from mountain lions than bears.
The wolf population is growing quickly, so that is another consideration.
David carries a .44 pistol and I carry a .357. How sad that we need to be armed to enjoy the mountains!
I grew up in Los Alamos, New Mexico. We passed through Colorado when we visited our Montana Grandparents. What a beautiful state. Aspens are my absolute favorite trees and many of my Montana ornaments have them. I'll post one for you today.
    Have a blessed week!

  6. Thanks so much for visiting (via Diana)! I always enjoy meeting new blog friends. I don't know where you live in Colorado, but my Grandparents used to live in Cheyenne, Wyoming and I spent the summers with them. We would visit lots of sights in Colorado. A gorgeous state!!! I see that you like birds. I love to feed my outside birds and I just recently got a yellow canary. I have loved having a bird for a pet. He is so sweet and I so enjoy hearing him sing!!! I will enjoy getting to know you better. Love & blessings from NC!

  9. I think the weather all over the country has been a bit unusual. Here in GA, we went from an unusually cold winter directly to 80 & 90 degree days!! I'm thinking the pool may be a good option today! No matter the weather, I like your attitude: "I will give thanks because no matter what else is happening, His love endures forever."

In response to your comment @ Life Lessons: So thankful that this visual example could speak to your heart! Your words are so encouraging. Each day as I water my plants, I can see steady improvement - and the flowers lift there heads up to the sun! Neat how our daily time with God lifts our faces to the Son!! Have a beautiful day full of His presence! God bless!
