All We Need Is Love

Hello dear friends,  In the midst of the changes and politics of government, there has been a lot of really harsh comments being made by both Democrats and Republicans.  I'm not sure about you, but I'm pretty tired of it all.  I have family and friends on both sides of the arena and they are the most  equally intelligent, beautiful, inspirational, giving people I know.  I do not think of them differently because of who they voted for and I won't lower myself to calling names.  I have a dear friend whose family have wounded her deeply, by calling her names that do not reflect who she is.  The relationships will forever be broken by such words as racist, bigot etc etc.  Her heart is broken as these were the siblings she thought would never attack her due to her political beliefs.  It has grieved me to see how broken she is.  I have seen more people becoming more intolerant and judgmental towards those who believe differently.  This morning I woke up with an old Beatles song in my head and decided I have to share it.  You may think I'm a simpleton, but truly we all need to be more tolerant and respectful of those whom have different views.  In fact, some folks who are always preaching tolerance for others, have become just the opposite.

Love Is All We Need
All you need is love, all you need is love,
All you need is love, love. Love is all you need.
All you need is love. (All together now).
All you need is love. (Everybody).
All you need is love, love. Love is all you need.
Love is all you need.
Love is all you need

Pretty simple, if not love than how about a little respect for diverse ideologies.  May our hearts realize just how much we'll miss by breaking relationships over who is in Washington DC.
I want to honor all those who think differently than I do, even if I don't agree with them.  We've all seen leaders and politicians that we didn't like/respect, but we respected the office they held.
Many are afraid that we are facing a civil war here in America-I sure hope not.
It's time to wake up.

  1. Noreen, I truly feel your pain and your friends. I do not even talk politics with my family. I do not care how any of them voted , that's their right...so I stay mum on all that. I had to vote issues this time not for any special person. I pray for all of us and the leaders new and old. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  2. I agree with you Noreen....there is a "political spirit" that is causing great discourse, division and anger. It has been active for quite awhile...before this election process, even though this process seems to have made things so much worse. The enemy must be pretty happy right now over what is going on in families, communities, the country. What does God's Word have to say? That is what we follow.....love one another..pray for each other including those in authority whether we agree or not. Stand for what you believe, but not in hatred. Sigh...I too am weary of it all. We as a family have people on both "sides" and we are working hard to not have it interfere with relationships. We need love, a good listening ear, and a trust in our God to always walk with us.

  3. Good message. Civil war? No, I don't think we are that bad. We've been apathetic for a long time though. Too bad people put their political beliefs ahead of personal relationships. We do need to give each other some room.

  4. Simpleton?....No! You have a beautiful heart, and a kind spirit....and that's what we should all be striving for right now! Kindness, tolerance, forgiveness, and love. And I'm so sorry for your friend...her family should be ashamed of themselves...and I hope one day they will realize how hurtful they were, and try and mend their relationship. If she's anything like you....she'll have an open heart for them when they try.

  5. I agree, I'm so fed up. Actually I was just looking for a meme to post of Facebook to tell everyone to trust in God! America spoke and they need to move on. We would have seen none of this if Hillary had won....

  6. Aloha my friend, totally agree with your comments. This morning I shut my Facebook account down, just too much hate and negativity and that's just not where I wanna be now. I want to be a light in this dark world. Keep praying and being a shining light. Peace.

  7. I don't ever remember such a divisive political situation. You're right - we all need to figure out how to give each other space to have different views from our own. With emotions running so high, that's hard but we need to do it. Peace to you.
