More Peonies

It's outdoor Wednesday and I again wanted to share more of our Peonies with you. The are all fully opened and some are already dropping their petals; not sure if it is from the rain and wind we've had or just that the blossoms are short lived. I also had someone tell me that the reasons they open up is because of the ants inside are forcing them to open~to tell you the truth that sounds like an old wives tale to me. I know they are filled with ants and that is why they are outside in the flower bed and not inside. These are the first Peonies I've ever had and I love them.

Today is a busy day as well~I'm walking first thing with a friend, then my neighbor wants to go out to lunch while my hubby's away. After that I'll be polishing the floor and trying to get some pillow shams made-I don't want to post pics of the quilt until I have the shams. Hubby will get home around 7:00 p.m. and I'll be thrilled to have him back. I can tell you that my days were full and I enjoyed some shopping etc., but it's always good when he gets back.
I hope you have a great day and find some time to get outside.

  1. Growing up mom always had those in the garden
    Lily & Edward

  2. They are beautiful. We had peonies in Illinois. Enjoy your day.....

  3. So pretty, both the pink and the white. Too bad they don't have a longer life.

    Happy Walking.

  4. Your peonies are beautiful! They're not doing well for us this year and we do so love them.

  5. Those are such pretty flowers. I don't know how well they would do in the heat of South Florida though.

  6. i do believe these are my favorite flowers..i just hate that they are full of ants. yours are so's so hot here in West Texas, I'm not sure if i can grow them or not....

  7. Just popping in, to say I saw your comment on "BJ's" blog. You and I both, have to eat Gluten Free! So no "crust" for us. -sighhhh-

Just saying, I understand the G/F life. Not easy, in some ways.

But when I went G/F, all my IBS symptoms disappeared. Now _that_ is enough to make up for, the Gluten I can not eat!!!!! :-)))

    Gentle hugs,

  8. Our peonies are not quite yet ready to bloom. But they are getting there!!!
