It's outdoor Wednesday and I again wanted to share more of our Peonies with you. The are all fully opened and some are already dropping their petals; not sure if it is from the rain and wind we've had or just that the blossoms are short lived. I also had someone tell me that the reasons they open up is because of the ants inside are forcing them to open~to tell you the truth that sounds like an old wives tale to me. I know they are filled with ants and that is why they are outside in the flower bed and not inside. These are the first Peonies I've ever had and I love them.
Today is a busy day as well~I'm walking first thing with a friend, then my neighbor wants to go out to lunch while my hubby's away. After that I'll be polishing the floor and trying to get some pillow shams made-I don't want to post pics of the quilt until I have the shams. Hubby will get home around 7:00 p.m. and I'll be thrilled to have him back. I can tell you that my days were full and I enjoyed some shopping etc., but it's always good when he gets back.
I hope you have a great day and find some time to get outside.

They are beautiful. We had peonies in Illinois. Enjoy your day.....
ReplyDeleteSo pretty, both the pink and the white. Too bad they don't have a longer life.

Your peonies are beautiful! They're not doing well for us this year and we do so love them.
ReplyDeleteThose are such pretty flowers. I don't know how well they would do in the heat of South Florida though.
ReplyDeletei do believe these are my favorite flowers..i just hate that they are full of ants. yours are so pretty...it's so hot here in West Texas, I'm not sure if i can grow them or not....
ReplyDeleteJust popping in, to say I saw your comment on "BJ's" blog. You and I both, have to eat Gluten Free! So no "crust" for us. -sighhhh-
ReplyDeleteJust saying, I understand the G/F life. Not easy, in some ways.
But when I went G/F, all my IBS symptoms disappeared. Now _that_ is enough to make up for, the Gluten I can not eat!!!!! :-)))
Gentle hugs,
Tessa
Our peonies are not quite yet ready to bloom. But they are getting there!!!
