Celebrate Good Times

Today is a very special day in our family~our oldest Grandson turns 14. Wow, it is hard to even write that. One of the reasons we went to Estes Park this last week was to celebrate J's birthday. Although we always go up there in the winter, for the families Christmas gift, we usually go in January or February. Our boy just got braces last week and still getting used to them-probably the reason for his tight smile.
All of the grands love to watch Duck Dynasty and we thought this was the perfect card for him.
Little man had an old cell phone and was pretending to take photos. Isn't he just a cutie!
Hubby and I love playing cribbage and have taught the grands to play too.  It was fun seeing the girls play.  There is so much life, laughter, love and joy when we are together.
Today it is supposed to get into the 60's-so incredible, just what I need.  I'm going to put Hunter's leash on him and we are going for a little walk.  Last night, I could definitely tell that I haven't been walking, as my legs were pretty tight.  I was surprised because the walk is so flat and easy, only 1 mile, but I guess I need to realize that it has been a month since I've done any walking.  I'm back into my pre-surgery clothes and happy about that, but in the evening my tummy still gets a bit puffy-something that is very common with hysterectomies.
I hope your day is filled with sunshine, bird singing and contentment!
Blessings,
Noreen

  6. Thank you for sharing the joy that is family; what happiness and love you've captured on this occasion! Happy Birthday to your handsome fella. We play Cribbage here too, every day. Our four year old grandson, Gregory, pretends to be playing as he'll call out: " 15 for 2, 15 for 4 and a pair is 6!" He's heard that a time or two in his young life! I love seeing your granddaughters playing. Glad you're getting back to your old self again and slowly regaining your strength. Hugs~

  7. Oh, my goodness, we live about 30 miles from all the Duck Dynasty gang and my kids went to school with Corie and Willie. They were graduating the year our kids started Jr. High. But, we know them all well and we just can't believe how popular they have become in recent years. A great family. Glad you are back to walking.

  9. A 14 y.o.? Wow, you and I are not old enough to have teen-aged grands! ;-) Glad that you're making progress ... must feel good to be in your pre-surgery clothes, too!

  10. You seem to be coming along quite well, out walking and all. Our oldest grandbiped got her braces a few weeks ago, she is only 11 - but she is coping pretty well with them. She even has a palate expander in there too.

Love watching the grands here all play game together too:)

  11. He looks so cute. 14 is a special age. Love the little one with the old phone. Never played cribbage...maybe its time to learn.
I had my surgery the Friday before Memorial Day and just spent the summer in leggings with long tailed tops. It was just easier that way. You do bloat off and on for a time. I didn't like anything tight for quite awhile after mine. We are supposed to see 63 this afternoon. Can't wait for the guys to get home to get out.
