Happy Monday to you! This morning I met my friend and her pup at a local park near our old home. Several years ago, during a wind storm, one of the big trees broke in half. The golf course decided that instead of grinding up the stump, they would have someone do a carving on it. Considering the golf course is called Pelican and we get Pelicans here in the spring, it was an easy decision. So on our walk, we went to the carving and I was so surprised at the detail.
The details are intricate and so accurate, it is beautiful. At first, I missed the fish in the mouth-hope you can see it.
I hope you had a great weekend; we did and we accomplished a lot. On Saturday I went on a nice walk with Hunter and then went to several stores looking for paper plates etc for tomorrow's dinner.
Yesterday, hubby and I ran more errands, went out to lunch and then began trimming bushes in the yard. It was so hot and then our daughter and grands showed up, so they finished my work-I'm so thankful for them.
Today, I'm going grocery shopping and then will enjoy the day.
I hope you are having nice weather; we are and I love being outside.
Blessings to you!

The tree craving is absolutely amazing...such detail. Sounds like you are getting back to normal. I hope you are taking care of yourself and not over doing...Hugs...
ReplyDeleteLoved the pelican statue. What a great idea. Have a marvellous Monday and enjoy your shopping.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
I love the pelican stump. Around here the stumps are frequently carved into very tall and rather skinny black bears.
ReplyDeleteGreat stump carving. There are a few of those North of here and they are fun, too.
ReplyDeleteGlad the kids stopped by and helped you out. It is warm but overcast here today but we are supposed to have snow on Friday- ugh- xo Diana
That is an awesome solution for the tree!
ReplyDeleteGlad that you're able to go out and walk or do yard work - but hope you aren't over-doing! We did a bunch out in the yard today. We haven't hit the hottest part of the day yet and it's already 85. I broke down and turned the AC on for the girls. :) Tomorrow, we can turn it off again, but I don't want them to be hot.

Please thank whoever had the creative idea to have the tree carved into this delightful pelican.
ReplyDeleteWow, someone has talent! That is beautiful and very detailed!
ReplyDeleteYour Pals,
Murphy & Stanley
What a delightful carving.
ReplyDeleteThat was a great idea, I love the carving!
ReplyDeleteWe have a few trunks around here that have been carved too, but nothing as intricate and beautiful as that pelican. Thanks for sharing it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful weather here too, in the 80s today, but a cooldown coming.

We had a beautiful day here in North Texas, too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea, it's a wonderful carving, very detailed. Isn't it nice being able to get outside again...I feel energized with the warmer weather
ReplyDeleteThat is spectacular! What a lovely thing to do!
ReplyDeleteI can see you are feeling much more like yourself these days. I have been down, and have not been keeping up with my bloggers. It was good to hear that you are back to your active self!

Wow - that carving is so intricate and so fantastic. What a wonderful idea for an old tree stump.
ReplyDeleteIt got up to 80 yesterday, and it was an absolutely delightful day. I spent the day at DD's and we all went outside to enjoy the afternoon. Too bad that delightful weather isn't going to stick around.
