Outdoor Wednesday

Happy Wednesday Friends~I'd rather be doing this(photo taken 3 yrs ago), but alas I'm thankful to be up and around.  It was so windy here yesterday that the snow is almost gone, but it is still cold outside.
Today is the day I get my staples out-such fun, don't you think?!  When my oldest granddaughter found out I had staples holding my incision together, she had this horrified look on her face. She immediately asked if they were like staples you use when you staple papers.  Yep, that they are.  Thankfully this grand isn't the type that would like to see them-let me tell you that my belly is still swollen and has some bruising, so it is not a pretty site.  Anyway, like many good patients, I will take a pain pill and some Tylenol before I go.  Been through staple removal two other times and it is not a cake walk.  Hubby took me out for a drive yesterday morning; my clothing wasn't comfortable so we didn't drive much. I'm stopping by one or two stores today to see if I can get some yoga pants that have a really big waist.  Don't know how long the swelling will last, but need to be comfortable.
This weekend we are due for another snow storm-maybe 8" of the white stuff.  It's o.k. though, I will be able to hang out and stitch. This year our weather has been so different-all over,  California is in a drought, our area is having a light winter and back east is getting what the rest of us aren't.
I hope you are able to get outside and enjoy fresh air today.
Blessings on your day.

  1. Hi Noreen, Good to hear from you and it sounds like you are improving. It is very cold here (1 degree F) with bitter wind chills. Hope you don't get the big storm. I know though that in CO oftentimes the snow doesn't last long.

  4. I remember getting stitches removed after my c-sections. Not painless, but once I got past the worst of the removal, I felt better. I'm praying that you will as well.

  5. Hope the staple removal wasn't too painful. Have you thought about getting some surgical scrubs with drawstrings - might be a lot more comfy.

  8. I hope that you found those yoga pants! A nice loose pair of pants will be so much more comfy. "They" are saying 10-16" up here this weekend. It's needed so I'm happy.

  10. So happy to hear you are doing so well. I do remember the incision site being uncomfortable for awhile. I wore a lot of dresses to avoid a waistband. Rest well. No overdoing it!!!!
