Happy Tuesday friends. I can honestly say it now feels like fall has arrived-this pic was taken at 7:30
and it was much colder when I got up.
Since we've been married, hubby and I always turn the heat down to 55
degrees at night, if we even have it on. So far this year, we haven't
had it on more than once or twice-usually when we have guests. I will
tell you that early this morning, before it was time to get up, I
covered my head with the blanket. When I was younger, I always covered
it; once I went through the change, I have slept much warmer and thus
the cold didn't bother me. I find it interesting that all of the sudden
I'm cold again. It is not that I just went through the change-it
happened 12 yrs ago, so I know that isn't the cause. Today is supposed
to reach 60; I hope so, yesterday was windy and cold all day long. I'll
be pulling out my sweater for bible study today. I know many are
already facing colder temps and usually by now we've already had several
inches of snow. I'm thankful we haven't yet and hoping it holds off
longer.
Hunter is loving having his cous' Lily here with him; he is much happier
when there's another Bichon in the house. Over the weekend, we had our
neighbor and her dog Odie over and the pups played so well together.
That is one on many nice traits about Bichons'-you get them together and they play
perfectly.
I hope you get some sunshine in your neck of the woods today.
Stay warm,
Noreen
Hope you manage a bit more nice weather. We are heading up to the 70's by the end of the week so no one round here is complaining. The longer the better and saves on the heating. Have a terrific Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
It is a little bit chillier but not bad, the sun is shining and leaves falling...life is good.

The weather over is FINALLY what I consider a California fall. We get down into the mid-fifties (or so ) at night, but still warm back up into the 70's during the day. Perfect actually...even maybe gorgeous. We still are getting the day that goes into the mid eighties though, or even the upper 80's. But when it cools off soo wonderously at night, it just doesn't matter. I rarely run my heat at all. Now we are unusual even for California as most do run it in the morning at least for a while. I just rarely do, lol. I prefer to cuddle up in blankets at night, and take a hot shower and dress warmly upon getting out of my bed in the morning, lol. I honestly can't imagine snow and cold temperatures. I imagine it is all in what you are used to. I am looking forward to some rainy days and maybe a fire or two though. Hope your day was a good one Noreen!
ReplyDeleteOur bodies are such complicated things ... I've never had any hot flashes (my "change" was so subtle that I can't tell you when it actually occurred), but lately I'm cold in the morning and warm up as the day goes by so that I'm uncomfortably warm by evening ... so much so that DH has to get a quilt so I can open the windows or turn down the AC (if it's on). My body switches back to freezing in the middle of the night ... crazy, huh? I sure never used to be that way! I'd be cold all day long! But I will say that 55 would be too low for me ... I like it cooler at night so I can cuddle up under my quilts, but that's a little too cool for me. ha! Have a great day, my friend!
ReplyDeleteIt's windy today, and the leaves have just about all gone from our trees. The rain and wind we had this morning, plus yesterday was supper windy....took the leaves off quickly. When I had my change, I felt like my hair was on fire at times. Now I get chilly easier. I am not much of a cold weather person. Only when it's winter here, I will walk the driveways ...I like for my face to get cold. I can't even explain it..LOL I hope we can hang on to fall a month more at least. :):) blessings, xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteWe had to have our furnace on and mom saw the 7 day forecast and said after it warms up next weekend it is gonna get really cold!
ReplyDeleteYour Pals,
Murphy & Stanley
Cool here in the mornings yet warms up not t of bad firing the day.
ReplyDeleteWe sleep with it in the low 60's, too, Noreen. I really like to sleep with a window open as long as we can. We only got to the low 50s today. Fall is here and winter is not far behind. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteWe are still in the low 90's here and mid 60's at night. They say we may take a dive into the mid-upper 70's by next week but only for a couple of days. It is nice to have it cool off at night though. Hope you are still able to get out and enjoy the afternoon's for awhile longer! Blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteWe are having wonderful storms,,, rain and wind and its 50 degrees.

The weather has been really strange around here Noreen...we hit a record high of 80 here in Upstate NY! That never happens here...usually we are looking at snow! They are forecasting snow for this weekend. I wish we could reach a happy medium!! The girls enjoyed being outside today though. So glad Hunter is enjoying having Lily there with him!! Hugs to you my friend.
