A Girlie Tea Party

Posted by Picasa
Last Friday our oldest daughter had us all over for a tea party/luncheon. I just have to brag on our girls for a moment-they are both so incredibly talented and they shine when hosting our parties. I love the fact that our granddaughters are being exposed on a regular basis, to fine entertaining and learning proper etiquette for tea and parties. As a child, I never had this type of training or examples set; later on, as an adult, I often watched my dear sister in law-aka sister of my heart host wonderful gatherings. I always say our girls didn't get their training in being a hostess from me, but from Susan! Love you sis.
Carrie provided white salad plates for the girls to decorate; such fun!

Little Man snoozed until it was lunch time; a perfect solution to a room filled with giggly girls.

We had a lovely lunch of crackers, bread, four different cheeses, carrots, grapes, blackberries, blueberries and tea or hot cider to drink.  For dessert, Carrie made Meringues and I brought some gluten free cookies; the girls had cute butterfly decorations with jelly beans to take home.
Our two daughters; not a great location for a photo, but they are both as beautiful inside as they are outside. Carrie is on the right, six months pregnant and still having all of us over-simply amazing. Kim on the left, equally amazing! Both girls make parties look so easy and beautiful. They will probably see this-girls I am so proud of you both and so thankful for being given the gift of you!
Joy to you!

I wanted to tell you that we got the drops for Dusty when we went to Big Bear over the weekend. He did FAR better than ever before. Both going up and coming down. We will always use these from now on. Thanks so much for telling me about them!!!

  16. How precious & lovely are your grands! And your littlest fella-cute, cute!

Sharing new traditions and hospitality that they will remember for the rest of their lives.
I remember the wonderful hostess of hospitality that my mother is and the wonderful theme parties that she would give. (My dad was a great host, too, but I think it was more my mom's idea for the parties.) There would be cookouts, luaus, French cuisine nights to Cajun nights. Age now limits their parties and they are now very rare. Love and cherish those memories!

Please tell your beautiful daughters to keep it up and give them my love!

    Love you!
