My Brother's Present

As I've shared previously, the reason for our trip to California was to celebrate my brother's 70th birthday at the end of the month. My brother has done so much for us over the years and the generosity he and his wife have showered us with, especially our daughters, can not be compared. I've never met anyone so giving and generous, ready to help out no matter what.
So it went without question last year when I approached my sister in law about his birthday, I told her that whatever she planned, we would all be in attendance to honor him. As I pondered what I could possibly give him, the idea came to me that I could make him a quilt. He is an avid animal lover(it is in my genes) so when I found this fabric that reminded me of the Rockies, I couldn't pass it up. I thought if he could put this in his office, then he/they would be continually reminded of the beauty of our area and want to visit more. He was so very thrilled at having his own quilted wall hanging, even if he only uses it as a lap throw it will make me happy.
We've got lots of great photos from his party that I will post, once I go through them.
Today we were back in the saddle again, so to speak, over at daughter's painting first thing this morning. It has been a good project but my friends, I'm here to say that I won't be sad to finish it or to see hubby be able to relax a bit more. Have a wonderful day.
Hugs, Noreen

  1. Your brother must have been thrilled with such a beautiful quilt. And your husband is painting again. Whew! I'm done for awhile, I think. We'll see....We just got the appraisal report on the house we're buying in Choteau. Now we'll do some paper shuffling and in God's timing we'll get a key and begin moving.
Have a blessed rest of the week, dear one!.........Denise

  3. HI Noreen. Just reading back to catch up with you. I too was gone and haven't been reading along much. Your brother will love this wall hanging, and will look at it with love in his heart, knowing how much his lil' sister loves him too.
Your trip sounded wonderful. So you got to experience some of this incredible heat we had, huh? Did you make it to any of the quilt shops? Have a great day!

I loved your pictures from your little visit and trip. Your friend has a beautiful name that is very, very precious to me. It was my grandmother's; whom I miss very much. I am so glad you all had a wonderful time.

  6. Sweet Friend,

What a beautiful quilt! You are so very talented and I can tell a lot of love went into this beautiful birthday gift. I'm sure your brother was so grateful and so overjoyed when he opened this gift.

I have enjoyed going through your pictures from your other postings while away. It looks and sounds like you and your family had a wonderful time and the scenery of mountains behind the picture of you and your long time friend...breathtakingly beautiful...you know how much I love God's majestic beauty.

I love you my friend and I'm so very happy that you had a wonderful and relaxing time away. You always bring so much joy wherever you go. I loved seeing your smiling face.

My hugs and prayers are always with you my friend...always.

    Peace,

  12. If that doesn't make him want to visit the Rockies more often, I don't know what would except for getting to visit you. The quilt is really beautiful.
