Just Chillin'

It's outdoor Wednesday and I hope you get some time enjoying the beauty of our world. Since last Thursday, Lily has been with us while our daughter & her family are in southern Ca.  Hunter and Lily are such companions, they truly love being with each other. At our home, we have an ottoman for Hunter and as you can see they both love sitting on it watching the street. I'm sure they were quiet noisy yesterday, as our neighbors had work being done on their driveway. Lily is more vocal than Hunter, but they both hold their own. I couldn't resist getting these pictures of them just chillin, watching their hood. Don't you just love Lily's back legs-she looks like a frog.
They both are in desperate need of a bath and might just get it this morning. Lily is half Poodle so her coat dries quickly, Hunter's is much thinner and wavy so it takes quite awhile to blow dry it. I know, some of you are probably rolling your eyes at that, but it's true. I do not fluff him like the groomers do, just get it dry and let it be.
Today is a very special day- both  our son-in-laws celebrate the same birthday.  So to both Brent and Eric, we wish you a very happy Birthday.  We are so proud of you both and so thankful you are part of the family.
Joy to you!

We Are Family

Happy Tuesday to you! We had Lily here with us for about 6 days, while our daughter's family went back to California for a wedding. It is truly such a blessing to be so close and have the availability to take care of each others pups. Last night we were relaxing and watching one of the summer shows on t.v., both dogs were between us and ended up with their legs entwined. Today, Lily goes home; I know she'll be so excited, but I am thinking Hunter won't be as happy. This photo looks staged, but it wasn't.  In fact, I was afraid that when I jumped up to get the camera the dogs might move; Hunter is on the right and Lily is on the left against hubby.

It is going to get up to the 90's today, so the girls, grands and I will be at the pool for part of the day. One thing I love about our new home is that we can leave the windows open at night and it is so peaceful. I've heard Coyotes a couple of times, but generally all you hear is crickets. However, if the temp rises too high, we might just have to turn on the air. I am so happy to have warmer days, but it also increases the risk of more flooding.
I hope you have a blessed day,  rejoice in this day!

Lily, our daughter's family dog came for an overnight yesterday. One thing we love is being able to exchange dog sitting; it is so much better than having the pups kenneled. Last evening the two played continually; they'd stop occasionally but tag and wrestling lasted for hours.  Today, they were much calmer because I think they were just plum tuckered out.  Lily is three years old now but she sure can give Hunter a run for his money.

I love how they snuggle together!  Lily is just about an inch taller than Hunter but you wouldn't know it.
Our breeder did tell us that her males  are always small; it also could be that Lily has poodle in her as well.
Have a restful Sunday!

A Bichon Wrestling Match

Happy Monday! On Saturday I decided I really needed to get some pics of Hunter playing with Lily, but every time I got down on their level they included me in their wrestling match or would attack me with kisses. So most of these are looking down on them; if you have a pup that won't leave you alone if you are on their level and have tips, I'd love them.
You can spot Lily because of her pink bows and also she is a bit bigger than Hunter.  He has all that puppy energy while Lily is a mature four years old.
Here Lily is shaking her head and reminds me of the Lion head Bichons are known for.

They had so much fun together but I think Hunter wore Lily out.
I have learned, this weekend, that one of Hunter's behaviors has a specific name-when he goes crazy and runs around the house like a madman, it is called a Bichon Blitz.  It really is helpful to know this it a behavior of Bichons and not just our crazy puppy.  When Lily went home, I think Hunter crashed, he was one tired puppy.
Have a day filled with fun.
