Marquetry Wood Work

Hello friends, As many of you know my husband is a true artist in so many way and loves wood working. This last six months, he has gotten into Marquetry work~the art of inlaying wood veneers and making a picture. He is very talented and it comes so easy to him; wish I could say the same. So, as I've been working on my Eleanor Burns challenge project with our mini group, he decided that he needed to make some inlaid blocks matching my squares and these are what he came up with.  For any quilters out there, you will recognize the patterns.
Next, he designed this plant-it is gorgeous!
I am so proud of him and he even decided to enter them into our local county fair.  Not sure what he'll do next, but once the fair is over, the quilt blocks will be hanging in my sewing room.
It's been hard to get here lately, but I'm not ready to close my blog down yet.
Hope your summer is going well!
Hugs,
Noreen

  1. Oh Noreen, those are absolutely gorgeous! Please tell your husband what a fabulous job he did and all the best to Him as he enters them in the fair.
Your sewing room will look beautiful with those gracing the walls.

My husband is quite talented when it comes to wood working as well,I stand amazed at his fine finishing, guess that's why he's a "finish carpenter" :-)
These multi million dollar homes in our area that he works on are amazing with the finish work and detail that these owners want done.

Thank you for sharing these with us, and I will be sure to show my husband as I know he will appreciate seeing them.

Have a delightful day, sweet lady~
