Marquetry Wood Work

Hello friends, As many of you know my husband is a true artist in so many way and loves wood working. This last six months, he has gotten into Marquetry work~the art of inlaying wood veneers and making a picture. He is very talented and it comes so easy to him; wish I could say the same. So, as I've been working on my Eleanor Burns challenge project with our mini group, he decided that he needed to make some inlaid blocks matching my squares and these are what he came up with.  For any quilters out there, you will recognize the patterns.
Next, he designed this plant-it is gorgeous!
I am so proud of him and he even decided to enter them into our local county fair.  Not sure what he'll do next, but once the fair is over, the quilt blocks will be hanging in my sewing room.
It's been hard to get here lately, but I'm not ready to close my blog down yet.
Hope your summer is going well!
Hugs,
Noreen

Hiking in the Rockies

Happy Monday to you! Yesterday, after I got home from church, hubby and I drove up to Estes Park and into Rocky Mountain National Park. It was a glorious day and the crowds weren't too bad. We decided to hike up to Alberta Falls and it wasn't too long of a hike, just the elevation changes made it tough in places.

After we got back into AC in the car, we drove down about five minutes and stopped at Sprague Lake; it was such a fast and easy hike.  After we left the park, we stopped in Estes for a water drink and then headed back down the mountain so we could stop at Costco.
It was a a wonderful day and so fun just to get out and do some hiking.  Although I walk daily and work out, the change in elevation gets to me.  Have to do it more!
Hope you have a great week.
Blessings,
Noreen

Summer 2019

Happy 4th of July to you! Summer has definitely decided to show up with warm days, humidity and pleasant evenings. Today, after getting a hair cut we stopped by our daughter, Kim, house to say hello and drop off some things for her. What better opportunity to take some pictures.

Tomorrow will be a quiet day as hubby has to work a majority of it at the golf course.
I hope you have a great day celebrating our Nation; may God Bless America!
