Another Finished Project

Happy Friday to you! Well, I wished for summer weather and we have it-yesterday was in the mid 90's and today will be the same. Hubby and I took Hunter out for a walk this morning a little after seven and by that time I was already hot. We've got the house all opened up, but I imagine we'll be shutting it down soon. I have joined a quilt club at a local store and have enjoyed making the blocks each month; the teacher gives us a pattern for a block to do-which will be part of a finished quilt at the end of the year. She also provides a pattern for an extra project and last month it was this cute table runner. I bought the fabric so I didn't have to fuss with pulling from my stash. As you know I don't do applique, but I'm trying to broaden my horizons. I also do not machine quilt, but did this one because I wanted to get it done and also want to be able to get better at the skill. So this is it; I am happy with it! I have to learn not to compare my projects to other friends' projects, mostly because they have been quilting forever(some do nothing but quilt). I enjoy it; I can say it's a passion, but I'm not a perfectionist and my quilts are works of love.

Today I'm going to my neighborhood quilt group and taking three antique quilts to share. Not sure what hubby and I will do this afternoon-maybe go hit the pool. I hope you have a wonderful day and weekend and get to enjoy some time outdoors.
Blessings~

  1. Beautiful quilt. I'm still in the very early stages of quilt-making. But by the time I get around to working on them again, I'll forget everything I learned. Have a wonderful weekend.

  5. I love that table runner. You did such a fabulous job! I'd like to try my hand at machine quilting as it's still uncomfortable to hold my lap hoop (against my abdomen). It's too hot to get outside right now - 98. Maybe after dinner.

  10. Works of love. That should be the mantra for every knitter, quilter, and crafts person. It doesn't have to be perfect for it's a work of love. And homemade with love is always better.
