This and That

It's frosty and cold here in Northern Colorado this morning! I can see the Rockies from where I'm sitting and they are glistening white; such beauty to behold.  Yesterday we actually turned on the furnace, not because it was needed, but over the years I've found that the first time we run it my allergies kick in big time; my brother(who also suffers from allergies) and sister of my heart are coming out next week and we wanted to make sure that excess dust wasn't flying around. I will go through the house today and vacuum all the vents and have hubby make sure the filter is clean. I did cough during the night and attribute it to the dust.
Today I will do some chores around the house, work on my study, go in for a dental cleaning and then have 7 of our 8 girls over to decide what Christmas presents they want to make their moms.
Last night we met hubby's co-workers for dinner and we were amazed at the Hunter's Moon out.  I didn't have my camera and my cell battery was dead, so I didn't get a photo of it, but it was glorious!
May your day be filled with wonder and awe.

  1. Noreen, I like to try our furnace out before we really need it....to make sure everything will work. We need to change our filter...it was changed last year at this time..so it is due. I'd love to have pros come in and clean our duct work...but I just don't trust that they are pros...just because they work for such a company.LOL. So I'll vacuum the best I can myself. That will be fun to be with your girls to pick a gift to make...you are a wonderful person to pass these skills along. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  4. It is very frosty and cold up here. I think that winter is visiting. I hope he goes away again for a little respite.

You saw the moon last night? I set up to photograph its rising, and then the clouds moved in. Disappointing...

  6. We've had our furnace on for a week or two now ... overnight only. It warms up enough during the day that we can turn it off and even open a window or two. How awesome that you are working with your grands on what to make for their mamas for Christmas.
